Summary:This costumbrist novel tells the history of Domy a mixed race young woman dougther of a ''Chola''. She studied in a boading school directed by nuns in order to obtain the education of a girl that belongs to high social class. Domy lives for 12 years hiding her origen. She felt in love with a young man of a high class, when he finds out that her parents were cholos she reject her. Despite this heart breack she felt in love once agian with a young doctor with whom she will have a new beginig.

This novel is consider a clasic from the Bolivian literature because the narrative and plot.
