The best charangos are made in Bolivia …

I ordered this package after hearing charango played by the Chilean charanguista Hector Soto from Chile . Whilst I prefer the Chilean style of playing it appears without doubt that the best charangos are made in Bolivia . This is an excellent introduction to charango. The instrument received together with accessories exceeded my expectations, and my family and friends have commented on the sweet tone of the charango supplied. The DVD of Los Kjarjas is absolutely brilliant.

Do not buy elsewhere at US influenced prices. This item is the real thing, made by people who know what a charango

is all about.

When my playing improves I will be back for a concert model. I can thoroughly recommend this package to anyone.

Just thought I'd tell you that I received my new Charango, cloth case, lesson book and CD today. I am very impressed!

Beautiful finish, great decoration around the edge of the box and the sound hole. With nylon strings, it seems to be a lot easier to play than my steel-stringed tiple. As an undergraduate, I used to buy guitars in Mexico and resell them in the US, and the assembly and finish on this inexpensive charango was better than most of the better Mexican guitars, which were many times better than the cheapo Stella and Harmony US-made guitars made at the time.

I ordered this on July 14, it was shipped July 19, and arrived at my door in Miami via US Postal Service on July 31, all for $97 and change. I was in Buenos Aires in May, and a very similar instrument alone (no case, shipping, lesson book or CD) was on sale for $500 pesos (about $166). It is a pain to shlep delicate things around when travelling. The packing was in foam and very professional.

The strings seem to stretch a lot, but this is normal. I found a site to tune it by online using 'tining charango' as the words to search on google.

Thanks a lot for your excellent products and service. I was somewhat desconfiado of ordering a musical instrument from so far away, but no longer. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

Never seen so well – packed instruments before!

Your buying and checkout system is great. Maybe you could add somewhere during this process information about the meaning of optional item insurance? I didn´t take it this time because the order´s overall value was not so high, and I thought that mail with tracking possibility would increase the safety. Nor have I had any problems with my earlier order (never seen so well-packed instrument before! :-) But I was left wondering whether insurance would still have been a good choice.

A powerful drum ….and who can beat the price

It is a light drum, but a powerful drum! As a matter of fact, I even use it as a bass drum within my ethnic drum set and have also used it in my band\'s recording. The only complaint I have is that the heads definately respond to the weather a lot (becomes very loose in the summer and very tight in the winter), but this can be fixed by making sure the ropes are at an appropriate tension. Overall I love it, and who can beat the price?

The best online store for Andean instruments

The best online store for Andean / South American / ethnic instruments is boliviamall.com. We've tried their wind, string and percussion instruments. They truly are of exceptional quality. And their prices are the best online. Indeed many of the instruments that we use in MarKamusic came from this online store. Shipping can be up to three weeks but everything comes well packed directly from Bolivia .
